Huxley College of the Environment
My main occupation since 2001 has been working for Huxley College of the Environment at Western Washington University. My duties there are split between teaching GIS and GPS courses, providing GIS technical support, and serving as the Assistant Director of the Huxley Spatial Institute where I oversee GIS projects. My teaching has primarily been:
- Introduction to GIS (now using ArcGIS Pro)
- Cartography
- GPS
Workshops and Consulting
In addition to teaching for Huxley, I also do free-lance consulting. This takes two forms:
- Independent GIS Projects (Spatial Analysis and Cartography, both web and static maps)
- Training and Instructional Services (workshops and 1-on-1 instruction)
As a workshop leader I have been leading trainings on GIS, Cartography and GPS since 2001 (back when I was teaching ArcView 3.x). As such, I have lead workshops using ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Desktop (ArcMap, etc.), ArcView 3.x, ArcGIS Online, Transitioning from ArcView to ArcMap, and Transitioning from ArcMap to ArcGIS Pro… Most recently I’ve been leading workshops on:
- Transitioning from ArcMap to ArcGIS Pro (1/2 day, 1 day or 2 day)
- Introduction to GIS using ArcGIS Pro (2 or 3 day)
- Introduction to GPS (1/2 day)
